NSVW 2017 at Griffith University

NSVW 2017 at Griffith University

To celebrate National Student Volunteer Week, Griffith University is holding a few events to celebrate and encourage student volunteers.

Griffith University Gold Coast Student Guild - Volunteer Experience Fair

8 August, 11am to 2pm

At the GUGC Volunteer Experience Fair, there will be a variety of charity and not-for-profit organisations available to answer any questions students might have about getting involved. This event is the perfect place for students to start their volunteering journey!

It is important to encourage volunteering among all university students to foster student growth, confidence, leadership and team work. It's a great way to break down barriers between international and domestic students and also gives new students the opportunity to get to know their campus and make friends from other faculties who they may not have come across otherwise.

Mentoring at Griffith

14 - 18 August

Mentoring at Griffith will run a campaign all week to thank their remarkable student mentors.

There are approximately 700 volunteer student mentors at Griffith each year, who give their time to assist other students to transition successfully to university life and to succeed at their studies. Griffith would like to say thank you to their mentors' contribution to the learning community. Mentoring at Griffith is also taking expressions of interest for those students who would like to become a mentor in 2018.

GUGC Guild Crew Volunteer Camp

19 August

Guild Crew is the on campus volunteering program offered to Griffith University Gold Coast students. An annual camp is held to encourage team building and leadership and for the crew to get to know each other. The camp is mostly run by volunteers in a more 'Senior' role including selecting the location, planning the schedule, activities and meals.
