Come and enjoy a wonderful day along part of Adelaide's beautiful coastline while helping to restore coastal biodiversity.
They will be assisting the Friends of the Lower Field River volunteer group to remove invasive weeds, including feral Gazanias from around the dunes and olives that are emerging on the upstream banks. The removal of such weeds is highly important as they out-compete the native plant species, and your efforts will therefore provide the opportunity for the native vegetation along the Lower Field River to flourish.
This activity is free and is a great way to discover different areas around Adelaide and meet new people who share your love of the outdoors. To be involved you will need to wear a pair of boots (strong work or walking boots are recommended to protect your feet and ankles), long pants and long sleeved shirts. Wet weather gear is highly recommended this time of the year. Please also bring a pair of work or gardening gloves, your lunch and a water bottle.
BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL - please phone Jacki on 8212 0777 or go to the following link if you would like to get involved - http://bookings.conservationvolunteers.org/project/info/67234
