University of the Sunshine Coast

University of the Sunshine Coast Student Guild and Volunteering Sunshine Coast organised student volunteer roles throughout the week including at Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, Martin's Creek, Parrots in Paradise, and a Beach Clean Up at Mooloolaba.

 


The University of Tasmania

The University of Tasmania and Volunteering Tasmania organised an ‘Options for Volunteering’ Info Stand that advised students of various causes they could get involved in.

 


Queensland University of Technology

Queensland University of Technology held various workshops throughout the week including topics - ‘Making a Difference’ and ‘The Value of Volunteering in the NFP Sector’. QUT also held a Work Experience and Volunteering Expo which saw thousands of students learn all about the various causes they can help with.

 


WA Inter-Uni

Over 60 students from Western Australia’s UWA Guild Volunteering Hub, ECU, Curtin, Murdoch and Notre Dame Unis planted 2,111 native seedlings in less than 2 hours for their inter-uni activity. 

 


Medowie Christian School

Medowie Christian School got involved in our #NSVW13 social media campaign - teachers and students shared how volunteering positively impacts the lives of others and the students themselves.

 


University of Newcastle

The University of Newcastle’s International Office, together with the Community Engagement Office, recognised, celebrated and said thank you at their inaugural Volunteer Recognition Dinner.

 


Griffith University

Griffith University at Nathan held a Volunteer Fair. There were over 20 organisations at the event with a diverse range of opportunities; from volunteering for the environment, the elderly, or animals or helping people affected by cancer, and many, many more great causes.

 


University of Technology Sydney

UTS: SOUL Award created Perfect Match: A Volunteer Speed Networking event linking 12 community organisations and approximately 100 students in the same room, facilitating some serious speed networking. The aim for the event was to make the volunteering process more engaging and less intimidating than a regular interview process.

 


Charles Darwin University

Charles Darwin University released an awesome volunteering film that interviewed students from the CDU Aspire Program, which is a partnership between the university and NT secondary schools. It aims to help students from a diversity of backgrounds to achieve their best results in secondary school and raise their aspirations to pursue tertiary study. The students show us where they volunteer, what their roles are and what they gain from the experience. 

 


Josephite Community Aid

Josephite Community Aid got involved in our #NSVW13 social media campaign - "Through volunteering I feel a part of something!"

 


Australian National University 

Volunteering ACT were thrilled to take part in the Australian National University #NSVW13 Expo. They commented on the great student turnout, jumping castle and sausage sizzle :)
