University of Western Australia – National Student Volunteer Week

UWA Guild Volunteering will be celebrating the amazing work of student volunteers with a number of activities and online recognition throughout the week. An open-air Volunteer Fest will celebrate our Micro Volunteering program turning 5 with volunteer opportunities including packing safe sex packs for WA AIDS Council and creating doggy treats for a local dog refuge.

UWA Guild Volunteering’s Social Media for Good program presents an upskilling workshop and panel discussion on professionalism in volunteering featuring Marketing Director from leading local children’s charity 12 Buckets.

Environmental based volunteer opportunities will be run throughout the week including a Micro Plastics survey at local river area Matilda Bay with an AUSMAP consultant. The week culminates with UWA, Curtin, Murdoch, ECU and Notre Dame universities joining forces on Saturday 15th to undertake an annual inter-uni beach challenge hosted by Perth NRM.
