Barwon Coast Environmental Improvement

Conservation Volunteers Australia-Geelong is holding a community organisation volunteering event, assisting removing invasive weeds around Barwon Heads foreshore and bluff.

This project is truly volunteering with a view! Help to remove invasive weeds around Barwon Heads foreshore and bluff. Activities can take place anywhere along the coast between Collendina and 13th Beach.

This coastline provides an inspiring range of visual character and habitat for a diverse range of animals and plants. This landscape includes threatened Coastal Moonah Woodlands and wetlands with high environmental biodiversity and conservation values.

The coastal reserve from 7W Collendina is predominantly threatened Coastal Moonah Woodlands and provides long uninterrupted views along the beach, whilst the Spit in Ocean Grove is unique in providing access to both the river and the sea environments The Bluff and 13th Beach provide a wild coast experience of cliffs, rock platforms, sand dunes and surf.

Join CVA around these beautiful areas to remove invasive weeds before they take over. By tackling them now we will help prevent them spreading all along the coast and ruining this beautiful and picturesque environment.

Learn weed identification and removal skills, meet likeminded individuals who also have a keen interest in their local environment, upgrade your resume with volunteering experience - so many great reasons to join us for some fun in the spring sunshine!
