Restoring unique habitats: Patawalonga Creek – Conservation Volunteers Australia event

Join Conservation Volunteers to undertake restoration activities such as weed management, native vegetation planting and surveys, and help to continue holding back the pressures of surrounding urbanisation.

Patawalonga Creek was once a diverse watercourse running through the Adelaide plains, but it has now been contained in many places within suburban concrete canals. However, there is one site that still contains some of the original creek along with a significant remnant of the Swamp Paperbark plant community. This habitat runs through the grounds of the Adelaide Airport and is an important refuge for aquatic life including tortoises, frogs and waterbirds.
