USQ National Student Volunteer Week Activities

USQ National Student Volunteer Week Activities

The University of Southern Queensland have multiple activities happening for NSVW 2019 to acknowledge our current volunteers, showcase volunteer organisations and opportunities, and promote the benefits of volunteering particularly in relation to their employability.

Acknowledge USQ Volunteers
USQ Student Life have invited current USQ student volunteers to an event in celebration of this week and to acknowledge their contribution to the university. The team will be putting on a pizza lunch for our volunteers to enjoy.

Showcasing Organisations and Opportunities
During NSVW each day we will be showcasing a volunteer organisation and/or opportunity. This aims to highlight to students the range of opportunities out there. This will be held on an online platform which also provides students additional resources on volunteering from how to find volunteer work, what the benefits are and application assistance. A stall will also be available on the Springfield and Ipswich campuses during common hour to showcase this initiative.

Volunteering and your Employability
Volunteering is a great way to increase your networks, gain skills and work experience while also giving back to the community. USQ Careers and Employability will be presenting to USQ Human Services students on the benefits of volunteering for their career and employability development.
