Elwood Foreshore tree planting day - Conservation Volunteers Australia event

Elwood Foreshore tree planting day - Conservation Volunteers Australia event

Volunteering in the outdoors is a great way for students to enjoy the fresh air, get out of their classrooms and make a positive impact to the natural environment. It is expected that volunteers adhere with safety requirements of wearing long pants, long sleeves, closed toe shoes and follow instructions of the Conservation Volunteers team leader to ensure everyone remains safe while undertaking the conservation activities.

Every year, the dedicated teams of volunteers from Conservation Volunteers Australia help plant native trees around the foreshores of Elwood and Point Ormond just a few kilometers south of Melbourne CBD. Why don’t you make this month the time to get your hands dirty and help them grow an urban forest for our native birds and insects?

In partnership with Citywide, the project areas will be planted with over 32,000 plants of various indigenous species with the aim to help rejuvenate cleared areas and increase plant biodiversity.

No prior experience is required but bookings are essential. Visit their website to reserve your spot or if you have any questions please contact the Melbourne office - (03) 9326 8250.

Free transport provided from Conservation Volunteers Melbourne Office on 162 Adderley Street West Melbourne at 8am. Alternatively, you can meet on site with prior arrangement with their staff.
