ECU Vol Squad

In celebration of the community giving spirit, ECU students are invited to join the ECU Vol Squad and take part in a local volunteering experience with a group of like-minded peers. We are offering two different off-campus events across the metro area:

Donation Sorting at “The Market Place” with UnitingCare West

Help provide material assistance for those at greatest need in our community on Tuesday 15 August, 2017 – 10am to 2pm

Corporate Quiz Event Volunteering with Redkite

Help Redkite raise money to support children and young people living with cancer on Friday 18 August, 2017 – 5pm to 11:30pm

Donation Drive, Support UnitingCare West’s Winter appeal

From now until Friday 18 August ECU is excited to join forces with one of WA’s leading community service agencies to support their 2017 Winter Appeal.

From now until the end of NSVW, the Careers and Leadership Services team is collecting donations of material assistance for UnitingCare West to distribute to those in our local community who are most in need.

UnitingCare West’s Tranby Shelter is currently the only Perth metro service offering food, clothing, shower facilities and refuge to Perth’s homeless community on a Saturday. By donating brand new items such as tinned food, pantry items, clothing and toiletries, ECU staff and students will help Tranby keep turning on the lights and opening its doors every Saturday.

Inter-University Tree Planting Day

On Saturday 12 August, a group of ECU students will join one of the largest restoration projects in Perth, ensuring preservation of the natural habitat for local wildlife. All five WA universities will take part, presenting a great opportunity for students to make new friends and grow their networks, while contributing to the improvement of the local community.

Virtual Volunteering Fair

This year, ECU will offer a Virtual Volunteering Fair, where students can find a range of volunteering and career resources, as well as photos, videos and post-event wrap-up of their #NSVW17 celebration.
