Restoring Port MacDonnell Common - Conservation Volunteers Australia event

Located in the southern most town of South Australia, Port MacDonnell Common is undertaking a habitat enhancement with CV and the Dept Environment Water and Natural Resources. The work the team will be undertaking at the Common will provide an important ecological linkage for native flora and fauna to adjacent Germain Reserve.

The site was previously grazed and is now receiving a vast habitat improvement. Local schools and community groups have earlier contributed to the site with over 500 native plants planted, undertaken invasive weed control and fenced the now rejuvenated wetland.

Teams will be working in the reveg zone, upgrading tree guards on plants that have out grown there smaller guards. The revegetation plot and wetlands are valuable natural assets, providing habitat for aquatic flora and fauna, and supporting biodiversity and threatened species. Join us! Meet new people and learn about this interesting area.
