Conservation Volunteers Australia - Gawler River

Conservation Volunteers Australia - Gawler River

The Gawler River was once a diverse natural river system and highlights the importance of involving the community in preserving native habitats for future generations to enjoy.

We will be assisting the work of the Gawler River Riparian Restoration volunteer group that are focused on restoring sections of the Gawler River to create habitat for native animals and birds. Activities will include planting native trees and removing invasive weeds to re-create original habitat for lizards, birds and small animals.

This activity is free and is a great way to discover different areas around Adelaide and meet new people who share your love of the outdoors. To be involved you will need to wear a pair of boots (strong work or walking boots are recommended to protect your feet and ankles), long pants and long sleeved shirts. Wet weather gear is highly recommended this time of the year. Please also bring a pair of work or gardening gloves, your lunch and a water bottle.

BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL - please phone Jacki on 8212 0777 or go to the following link if you would like to get involved - http://bookings.conservationvolunteers.org/project/info/67527
