Discover Patawalonga Creek

Do you want to help the environment and support the community while enjoying some fresh air and healthy exercise?

Here's your chance! Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) has organised a day based on the successful, long running program along the Patawalonga Creek.

Part of the creek runs through the grounds of Adelaide Airport and so is not usually accessible to the public. The Friends of Patawalonga Creek have been caring for and restoring the creek habitat through seed collecting, planting, weed control and surveys. This site is an important refuge for aquatic life including native tortoises, frogs and waterbirds. The creek site includes the last stand of Melalueca (native Tea Tree) in the area, and a significant species of bluebush. This site has had fantastic changes over the years thanks to Friends Group and CVA volunteers - it's easy for you to join the team for a day and be a part of this success!

Activities usually include revegetation and general maintenance of the existing remnant native vegetation and revegetation sites.

Transport from Adelaide city centre, training, supervision and safety briefings are provided on the project day by the CVA Team Leader.

Volunteers can meet at CVA office at 7:45am or meet on site just off West Beach Road at 8:30am. Bookings are ESSENTIAL as places on the CVA teams are limited, you can book by phone, email or register directly through the CVA website.
